{"id":1037,"date":"2015-10-06T09:17:51","date_gmt":"2015-10-06T03:17:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/promincproductions.com\/blog\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=1037"},"modified":"2025-01-16T21:15:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T03:15:09","slug":"crock-pot-bbq-ribs-aip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/promincproductions.com\/blog\/crock-pot-bbq-ribs-aip\/","title":{"rendered":"Crock Pot BBQ Ribs (AIP)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bbq-cooking-tips\">BBQ Cooking Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"smoker-vs-grill-vs-oven-vs-crock-pot\">Smoker vs Grill vs Oven vs Crock Pot<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When making BBQ, most people think a smoker is required. &nbsp;While the smoke flavor is amazing, it certainly is not the only way. &nbsp;Baking in the oven or even cooking in a crock pot can produce great results. &nbsp;Regardless, as you&#8217;ve heard many times before, the key to BBQ is to cook it low and slow. &nbsp;There tends to be a lot of fat and connective tissue in popular BBQ meats. &nbsp;The long slow cook times ensure that the fat and tissues break down turning the meat into a juicy tender meal, while not drying it out. &nbsp;The key here is to heat with indirect heat &#8211; in other words don&#8217;t put a flame directly under or over the racks of ribs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any method of heating the meat works, so really there are many ways to prepare ribs. &nbsp;Though a smoker or grill will generally give more of a &#8220;crispier&#8221; crust on the outside of the meat. &nbsp;The oven (if in a covered pan) and crock pot will produce moister meat and crust as they trap in more moisture while cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A&nbsp;crock pot works wonderfully for the low and slow and keeps the meat moist. &nbsp;A full rack (cut in half) placed in a crock pot results in perfectly tender fall off the bone ribs in 6 hours. &nbsp;And all the juices and flavors of the meat are trapped in the crock pot, which forces the flavor to be infused into the meat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"keep-your-meat-moist\">Keep Your Meat Moist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is critical though to ensure that the meat doesn&#8217;t get to dry. &nbsp;If you are cooking your BBQ on a grill or smoker, I like to add a container with liquid in it to allow it to steam and keep some moisture in the cooking vessel. &nbsp;This can be a cup made of tinfoil or a metal cup if you have one. &nbsp;Fill it with water, lemon juice, apple juice, beer&#8230; &nbsp;whatever flavor you like. &nbsp;As the meat cooks, this will produce some steam which will help to ensure the meat stays juicy and tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-is-aip\">What is AIP?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AIP (as you may have noticed in the title of this post) stands for Auto Immune Protocol. &nbsp;If you&#8217;ve never heard of this term, don&#8217;t worry &#8211; it&#8217;s not something that will hurt you, the flavors of your food, or your preparation time. &nbsp;Simply put, AIP is a specific way of eating that is followed by some with auto immune diseases in an effort to reverse symptoms. &nbsp;In essence it&#8217;s a more limited diet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, for those not following AIP I guarantee you that you&#8217;ll still find this to be a simple and great recipe for your cooking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"recipe\"><\/div><div id=\"wprm-recipe-container-3830\" class=\"wprm-recipe-container\" data-recipe-id=\"3830\" data-servings=\"3\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe wprm-recipe-template-blend-in\"><div class=\"wprm-container-float-right\">\n    <div class=\"wprm-recipe-image wprm-block-image-normal\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-width: 0px;border-style: solid;border-color: #666666\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/promincproductions.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/IMG_3190-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-150x150 size-150x150\" alt=\"crock pot ribs\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-template-blend-in-name-stars-container\">\n\t<h2 class=\"wprm-recipe-name wprm-block-text-bold\">Crock Pot Ribs (AIP)<\/h2>\n\t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-spacer\" style=\"height: 5px\"><\/div>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/promincproductions.com\/blog\/wprm_print\/crock-pot-ribs-aip\" style=\"color: #333333\" class=\"wprm-recipe-print wprm-recipe-link wprm-print-recipe-shortcode wprm-block-text-normal\" data-recipe-id=\"3830\" data-template=\"\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span class=\"wprm-recipe-icon wprm-recipe-print-icon\"><\/span> Print Recipe<\/a> \n<div class=\"wprm-spacer\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"wprm-recipe-summary wprm-block-text-normal\">Tender, juicy, fall off the bone ribs made in the crock pot.
