Bagels &#8211; Home Made Yummyness!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who doesn&#8217;t love a fresh bagel?\u00a0 But have you seen what they charge for ONE bagel at these nice bakeries? \u00a0Heck, I can make a dozen for that price! \u00a0So I did. \u00a0And they fit in with my healthy living as well.<\/p>\n<p>They take a bit of time and effort, but it was worth it for a weeks worth of breakfasts.<\/p>\n<h2>Oat Bagels Recipe<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>2 1\/2 tsp. yeast<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1 cup rolled oats<\/li>\n<li>2 cups bread flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup whole grain wheat flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp. brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 3\/8 cup warm water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Directions<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In a stand mixer bowl, combine the water, flours, sugar, salt, and yeast. \u00a0Using a dough hook, mix on low until the dough is mixed and comes off the sides of the bowl. \u00a0This will take about 8 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Place the dough ball in a lightly oiled bowl and cover. \u00a0Let rise in a warm place for about 2 hours. \u00a0The dough should rise to\u00a0nearly double the size.<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_417\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-417\" bagels.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/li>\n<li>Cut the dough ball into 12 equal sized pieces. \u00a0Roll each piece into a ball to start forming the shape of the bagel. \u00a0Then push your thumb hole in the center of each bagel.
